Our weekend started out with a terrible booking mix up at another hotel. The mix up turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We ended up at Grande Rockies Resort as we are scheduled to have a wedding walkthrough tomorrow anyways. Upon hearing our story, the concierge upgraded us to a 1 bedroom suite and was very pleasant and informative. Also, the food is amazing. This chef can cater my wedding! Amazing experience.
Nice stay in Canmore. Repeat stay in a two bedroom suite. Four years ago this was one of my favorite family stays. Unfortunately this particular suite was rundown, many things damaged and lots of problems like laundry machine, high tech tub, shower were broken and not repaired. The power cutting out when the room is unoccupied would reboot the satellite and this made my kids freak out repeatedly. It took me a half an hour to connect to the wifi which was also frustrating. The room which cost more than I had expected was looking a little worn. When I checked out I stood behind a man with complaints and was offered one night comped, and he stated he had stayed two nights and demanded both for free and he was given that. Made me not want to ever come back. The type of person who complains gets rewarded. I would have been happier to have paid less for a less than satisfactory room
We rented a two bedroom suite with my sister. There was a part of the hotel where they were just dumping sheets and such which kinda looked bad. The pool wasn't bad but they were hard on the 10 pm deadline. Other than that the room was quite and clean, beds were pretty good and everything was set up for us while we were there. Staff was very nice and accommodating.
We stayed for 6 nights in a 1 bedroom suite. The bed was very uncomfortable and the sofa was also. The room was good sized and a decent value. The view of the mountains from our balcony was amazing. I didn't like the noise from the highway all day and night, though. The weather was perfect during our stay and it would have been nice to sleep with the windows open but the noise made that impossible. It was nice that the room was furnished with in room laundry and a full kitchen including dishes. Also, the grill on the balcony and the gas fireplace were nice additions. The staff was friendly and aside from a minor maintenance issue our first night it was a pleasant stay. The pool was fun, complete with waterslide, wading pool, and indoor/outdool spa. Good for families with kids. The restaurant had good food for reasonable prices. The bar was over priced, though.
We had a 2 room sweet that was nice. A tiny bit dirty in one shower and corner of a room. One shower had some features disabled but hotel told me it was unusual and would be fixed. On our trip it was the nicest place we stayed on our 6 day trip. Front desk was also very helpful on what to do in the are.
