Windtower was fantastic! We did our group booking with this hotel, and you cant beat their prices & free warm breakfast! At $99 standard room, $149 1 bedroom suite the bride & groom get 2 nights FREE when booking! They have a personalized banner for the newlyweds when guests enter the hotel, and when our guests checked in, they gave out cookies and adorable door cards for the wedding itself. This is service Ive never heard of! Some of the rooms are a little out-dated (but still nice), but my bridal suite was INCREDIBLE! Everything was updated and it made such a gorgeous backdrop for my getting ready photos. The staff also helped organize a private function for us in their dining room the next day. They cleaned up after breakfast service, kept some staff on - and re-opened for our private function (Bride & Groom send-off lunch the next day) offering up a full menu for our guests. They really went out of their way for our wedding!
We came here for the first two nights of our Rockies road trip, just looking for a place to crash, and we were pleasantly surprised. We had the suite which had a nice fireplace (just for show), sofas, full kitchen and appliances, washer dryer and a comfy bed and plenty of storage space. Also - ice machine in the hallway. It was snowing when we were there so we had a great time in the outdoor jacuzzi having snow falling down on us. The breakfast was included and wasn't bad!Parking is 5$ a night , we parked outside on the street. Gym was decent, not amazing. Good enough for us. Only issue we had is that the hallways sort of feel like they haven't been touched since the seventies, but it didn't really bother us all that much. Overall, had a pretty good experience.
The hotel is okay, fella a bit old and worn at places, but still clean and tolerable. Theres definitely better value-price options in town. What was extremely frustrating about our stay is the staff on the reception. We had some problem (that occurred because of the staff mistake), and the reception seemed not to care too much about us. Even after several reminders and a number of talked nothing seemed to be done. We were just fed with another will take a look at this and come back time after time. In the end nothing was done and we were forced to leave frustrated. I would definitely recommend to go for some other place in town, if you have options.
Good location. Desk staff very nice. Parking is a challenge. This hotel accepts pets. Be careful. The dog in the room next to us barked half the night. Called the desk 4 times! They visited next door 3 times and finally it stopped. Be sure you inquire about the location of your room as it relates to which rooms are allowed to have pets.
Stayed for an overnight trip to Banff when we wanted to not have so long of a commute the day of our reservations to Lake O'Hara. Accommodations were good, no air conditioning in the room which was hot, had to sleep with the window open. Free Breakfast was great. Friendly staff. Hallways are looking a bit worn. Do not use the water cooler in the lobby, saw numerous people filling their empty water bottles by direct contact with the nozzle and the lip of their dirty water bottle.
