Wow what a sh*thole. At one time it was probably nice but there's new development all around the site and I think the owners let it slide badly. I now see why there's limited pictures on their website and they take full payment at the time of your reservation because if you didn't pay in advance you'd definitely drive away. Even though we paid $140 for the weekend we still drove away. Maybe the owner could use the money to hire someone to mow and fill in the mud pads of the camp spots. I was also promised and paid for a spot by the creek but got put way at the back beside the abandoned mobile homes that were uprooted from the construction; I guess booking three weeks in advance wasn't enough time for them to get it right. I would give it negative stars but this site doesn't allow that. Do not waste your money; find somewhere else to camp.Update: it's been months after posting this review. No one from the business has ever contacted or attempted to contact me to offer an apology or to discuss their screw up of not putting us in the site we reserved and how they cold make it right. They simply kept the money they recieved for nothing provided and I guess they're good with that.
We used to love this place (have been coming here for years) but this year was horrible. They messed up our reservations both times we were here. Also-no power when we arrived even though they were in the midst of having an electrician come. We stated it would have been nice for them to communicate that to us as we had spent time trying to figure out why we had no power. Their response this isnt a five star hotel. Your choice is to either wait for the electrician, or leave. I can definitely say we will NOT be coming back, nor would we ever recommend this camp site either. This all could have been dealt with by simple respectful communication. Obviously they feel they have a monopoly RV campsites in Canmore. Just found out the campground is being dug up in two years for more Condos. The property manager doesnt care!
This place has really gone downhill fast. Love being woken up to the sound of heavy machinery and construction (even on the weekend). The whole facility just looks run down and neglected. Still charging premium prices though.
Horrible driving just to get to the campgrounds, if you can call them that. You have to drive through construction areas and down narrow roads. They are right by trains which run all night and are part of a trailer park. Sites are so small and poorly laid out, the septic dump is at the front of the site, so nowhere near a trailers hookup. For what they charge, wifi should be accessible from everywhere in the grounds. Campers must adhere to an 11pm quiet time yet the trailer park doesn't. Unless you have no other options, find somewhere else to stay.
This is a beautiful campground. Our camp site backed into the creek. Nice grassy area. Staff was very helpful. There is construction, but we were out exploring during the day so didn't bother us. There are trains but the creek and homes helped with the train noise. Would stay again.
